Vision-Based Control of Welding and Droplet Manufacturing
This program focuses on the development of vision-based control of welding and droplet based manufacturing. It is supported by a Major Research Instrumentation NSF-grant (high speed digital imaging systems, optics, and fast processing hardware, as well as experimental apparatus). This equipment allows the imaging and extraction of the dynamic behavior of droplets and weld pools, as well as the tracking of seams on complex parts. This was a collaboration with Profs. Vincent, Steele, and de Brunner at CSM.
